Your stay in a unique countryside

The farmhouse is located in the South of Tuscany, in the countryside surrounding the medieval hill town of Montepulciano, in the Italian province of Siena. Montepulciano is considered the “Pearl” of the 16th century and its inhabitants take their name from its illustrious and well-known citizen, the poet Angiolo Poliziano.

The farmhouse set on the border between Tuscany and Umbria is the ideal base for visiting the most enchanting art Tuscan cities such as Siena, Arezzo and Florence and the most stunning villages of Val d’Orcia as Pienza, San Quirico d’Orcia, Bagno Vignoni and Montalcino. The province extends up to Umbria making it possible for our guests to quickly reach the most distinctive borghi (historic villages) of Umbria like Assisi, Gubbio, Spello, Montefalco and the regional capital Perugia.

We are also a farm

Our farmhouse, named after La Rocca family, is situated in the middle of the family’s farm and It is considered one of the most important in Valdichiana. It extends for 400 hectares divided between vineyards, orchards, vegetable and cereal plantations, all “zero km” products that you can taste at our restaurant prepared by our Chef Federico.
Podere La Rocca is immersed in the tranquility of Tuscan countryside landscapes. The location is divided into three parts: La Villa, on two floors: on the ground floor there is Podere La Rocca Restaurant and on the first floor there are one apartment and two rooms; the dépendance, La Vecchia Stufa. This latter one has recently undergone renovation works that have conferred a more refined and elegant touch to the structure. Finally, La Casa Rossa which is made up of three apartments and four rooms in addition to the reception and the relax room where you can enjoy your time reading a book or playing pool. Rooms are quiet and with all modern comforts; the spacious private bathrooms would be the envy of the most distinguished noble Tuscan families.

Hospitality and services for a perfect holiday

During the hot summer days, you can refresh and relax by the large isolated pool, with jacuzzi included, amidst olive and fruit trees where you can spend time with your family or friends. A large and well-kept green garden makes our countryside atmosphere even more magical. You can admire the sunset staring at vineyards while sipping a glass of good wine.
Among the many activities we offer our guests there are different kinds of excursions and picnics in our vineyards and orchards. Moreover, we organize dinners in vineyards in order for you to be in close contact with nature, where you can savor our Chef’s dishes accompanied by the wines we produce. Another popular activity is our farm tour with Federico who will guide you to the discovery of our property and where you will see with your own eyes the pears harvesting in the summer months. Icing on the cake, at the end of the tour you can taste our wines.

Our restaurant

You cannot miss the dinner in our farmhouse restaurant Podere La Rocca. Every day our Chef Federico and his crew cook delicious dishes for you using local and family recipes. The real stars of our menu are fresh ingredients and vegetable grown in our farm. The menu is very varied and changes with the seasons, we offer our guests traditional Tuscan dishes, wood-fired oven pizza as well as revisited and gourmet dishes. During warm summer evenings, dinner is served outside our beautiful restaurant in a romantic atmosphere.

Breakfast

Our continental buffet breakfast, first appointment of the day, is always abundant and made with fresh local products. You can find Tuscan cold cuts, Pienza cheese, local production eggs, bacon, homemade pancakes, freshly prepared every morning, baked croissants, homemade jams and cakes and much more. All genuine and tasty delicacies.

Our location is suitable for different kinds of events: from more casual ones such as birthday and graduation parties, to more formal ones such as christening and first communion parties or weddings. Our staff will take care of your event trying to fulfill every request and giving you new ideas in order to make your day unforgettable.
