GUIDED TOURS OF VALDCHIANA AND VAL D'ORCIA

Agriturismo Podere La Rocca, in collaboration with Alessandro expert guide and nature lover , offers its guests guided tours to discover the wonders of the Valdichiana Senese and Val d'Orcia.
You will cross the territory on foot and with the utmost professionalism , Alessandro, will guide you to discover the secrets of our region making you fall in love with landscapes and views that only the most authentic Tuscany is able to offer.
The proposed tours are the result of years of walking made with the curiosity usually typical of children, this has led our guide, to find unlikely views and pristine ecosystems; environments and territories only apparently inaccessible. 
 Within each proposal you will find all tour information and technical specifications. Some routes are looped (round trip) others one way, but you can rest assured Alessandro will always be with you and he will always be the one to bring you back The durations of the walks are diversified to meet your every need, if we have generated in you the curiosity to find out what each package includes all you have to do is read on.
The guided tours will take you to discover the following areas:
Pietraporciana Nature Reserve

Starting from the Historic Mansion "Villa La Foce" passing through a country road surrounded by woods, you start to climb up the Poggio di Pietraporciana thus being able to enjoy glimpses of a panorama of both valleys.  A small forest of ancient beech trees, indicates the proximity to the summit where your eyes will be totally fulfilled by a breathtaking view. The route continues in the direction of Mount Cetona and after passing through the village of Castiglioncello on the Trinoro, descend back to the Val d'Orcia side towards the locality of La Foce.
The duration of the route is 6 hours for about 13km and it is a loop trail.l.
The surroundings of Bagno Vignoni
Starting in Bagno Vignoni past the thermal pools, which are located at the base of the Parco dei Mulini, take the path to the course of the Orcia River. Once you are immersed in the Mediterranean maquis crossing the wildest and most authentic places you reach the Castle of Ripa d'Orcia , from here you arrive at Vignoni which offers a view of the Val d'Orcia that will leave you speechless.
The route that takes 6 hours for 12 km of walking ends in the wonderful pizza of Bagno Vignoni with its incredible thermal square.
This is also a loop trail.

.Guided tour between Montalcino and Sant'Antimo.

Quest tour begins in the northern part of Montalcino and proceeds through a country path with a privileged view of Mount Amiata and the wild gorge of the Orcia River. Through stretches of Mediterranean scrubland alternating with Brunello vineyards we arrive at the tour's destination, which is L'Abbazia Di Sant'Antimo, a jewel of Romanesque architecture in Tuscany.
This is a one-way tour, lasting 4 hours and about 10km in length.
Guided tour of Pienza 

From the "Romanesque" Pieve di Corsignano, cross country paths to admire the rolling hills that characterize the Val d'Orcia.  This route will take you to discover famous little church of Vitaleta and then arrive in Pienza . 
This is a loop trail lasting 9 hours for about 9 km.
